“The existing site in Jalan Cross is too congested so I proposed the new site,” he said at the full board meeting. “The Sibu-Kapit Expressboat Terminal is rarely used now due to the decreasing number of express boat services hence the waterfront area is rather quiet at night.He added that the pasar malam did not have public toilets whereas the Khoo Peng Loong Food Court had toilets.Merikan is hoping SMC and traders consider the proposal.
His committee, he said, would carry out a study and take into account stakeholders’ views as well as factors concerning the relocating exercise. – By ANDY CHUA
