THERE have been so many calls to be environment-friendly that some people may have grown so “psychologically” distant to actually care.

Quiblat said that based on Pagasa’s climate analysis, the country’s average mean temperature increased by as much as 0.9 to 1.9 degrees Celsius in 2020. Heat index measurement has become relevant as many people now casually remark, “Dili man ni ingon-ani kainit ang alas 10 sa buntag sa una .” Quiblat attributed the increase in temperature and humidity to global warming, or the increase of the mean temperature of the Earth’s surface, which, in turn, results in climate change.

“Some people are simply insensitive to climate data from around the world or what’s going on with global warming caused by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases,” said Dizon in a virtual interview on Friday, Aug. 25.
