Liberal and Labor are at loggerheads over energy prices once again after this week’s news of an incoming price hike for energy bills in a number of Australian states.

Speaking on the Today show, the Liberal leader accused the government of “completely underestimating” the impact of the cost of living crisis on families. Mr Marles, who appeared with Mr Dutton on the breakfast program, defended his government’s actions in response. Mr Dutton dismissed the claims, pointing out that Labor had even made cheaper energy promises after Russia invaded Ukraine.“Peter can make the point he has, but when that war started, nobody imagined it would still be going today in the way that it is,” Mr Marles retorted.
