Treasury has confirmed it has referred the PwC tax scandal, involving former partner Peter Collins, to the Australian Federal Police for a criminal investigation.
The Australian Federal Police has been asked to launch a criminal investigation into the PwC tax leak scandal that has claimed the scalp of its former CEO and sent shudders through the consulting industry and PwC’s global operations.
Former PwC partner Peter Collins now faces a criminal investigation into the leak of confidential government plans to combat corporate tax evasion. “In light of these recent revelations and the seriousness of this misconduct, the Treasury has referred the matter to the Australian Federal Police to consider commencement of a criminal investigation,” he said.
“The bigger question remains, are we looking at just the tip of the iceberg; what is going on in the larger industry of big consulting?” she said.Advertisement
