KANGAR (Bernama): Perlis will allow mosque officials and committee members to perform Friday prayers at mosques from May 15, but there must not be more than 12 people in the place of worship.
Mosques must also adhere to strict standard operating procedures, and the congregation – including imam and khatib – must not exceed 12 persons or fewer than three persons, with only mosque officials and committee members allowed to participate.
He said the permission to attend Friday prayers could not be extended to the public yet due the threat of Covid-19. Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said those present should also wear face masks and social distancing of at least two metres between individuals must be maintained at all times, including during prayers.
