Perak Umno: State govt unaffected by Umno's decision not to formally join Perikatan

IPOH: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s remark that the party would not formally join Perikatan Nasional has not affected its relationship with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in the Perak state government, says Datuk Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Umno chairman said the state government was still functioning normally and there were no issues with the state Bersatu led by Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.All programmes and activities are running as usual, ” he told reporters when met during a Hari Raya Haji and Warriors Day celebration at the Syed Putra army camp here on Friday .

Zahid had reportedly said that Umno had no intention of formally joining Perikatan and was committed to Muafakat Nasional, which includes Barisan Nasional component parties and PAS.Saarani said like the Federal Government, the state government was formed with Bersatu to deal with the situation then.
