A 25-year-old security guard in Penang was recently arrested by PDRM after being accused of raping an Australian woman while pretending to send her to the
hospital.
The accused, S Prasanth, 25, pleaded guilty before Judge Juraidah Abbas after both charges were read out to him in Tamil as he could not understand Bahasa Malaysia. For the second charge, the accused intentionally engaged in sexual intercourse and sodomised the victim. For this, he was charged under Section 377C of the Penal Code, to which he could face a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
