GEORGE TOWN: The Pesta Site vaccination centre (PPV) in Sungai Nibong will be closed from Sunday (Aug 14).
In a statement by the PPV’s chief Dr Najihan Mazwan, the appointment dates for those receiving the second dose of their Pfizer vaccination have been rescheduled.
“Those receiving second doses of the Covid-19 vaccination at the Pesta Site PPV will be delayed for a week due to the statewide shortage of vaccine supply.“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” he said. Earlier, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the supply of Pfizer vaccines were internationally affected and the amount of vaccines received have been reduced but this is a temporary phenomenon.“As the supply is affected, the second dose vaccination at several Public-Private Partnership Industrial Covid-19 Immunisation Programme PPVs and private hospitals have to be rescheduled and delayed for a few days,” he said.
