KUALA LUMPUR: The Penang state government wants the Penang International Airport (PIA) expansion plan to be approved soon, says Chow Kon Yeow.

The Chief Minister urged the Federal Government to give the airport expansion the go-ahead, adding that this was necessary as PIA had exceeded its passenger capacity.

“There is still a lot of issues to be resolved, we're just keeping a keen interest on the project,” he added. He was speaking to reporters after attending a “Back to Alma Mater” programme at his former school, SMK Cochrane, Maluri on Tuesday .
