Following a fatal accident that claimed the lives of five family members, the Sultan of Pahang urges for better road infrastructure and driver caution.

Five members of a family were killed in a two-car collision on Jalan Nenasi-Rompin in Pahang on January 11, 2025. The incident occurred at Kilometre 65, involving a Proton Wira carrying the victims and a Nissan Grand Livina MPV. All five occupants of the Proton Wira, including a grandmother, her daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren, died at the scene.

The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, expressed his concern over the rising number of road fatalities in the state, emphasizing the need for improved road infrastructure. He called for the installation of safety signs and adequate lighting on highways and village roads, particularly along sharp bends, to enhance user safety. The Sultan also urged drivers to maintain their vehicles and exercise caution, especially during unfavorable weather conditions or when feeling fatigued. During a visit to Semek Muda, 62, the grandmother who lost her entire family in the crash, the Sultan offered condolences and words of encouragement, urging patience and leaving everything to Allah. Semek Muda expressed her gratitude for the Sultan's visit and support, stating that her daughter, Rahimah Awang Muda, 38, was the backbone of their family and her loss deeply affected them.
