The Sultan of Pahang confirmed the existence of an additional detention order at home for former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak during court proceedings.

Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, the lawyer representing Datuk Seri Najib Razak , read part of a letter from the Sultan of Pahang, also the former King of Malaysia , Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, confirming the existence of an additional detention order at home for the former Prime Minister. The letter was signed by Datuk Ahmad Khirrizal Abdul Rahman, representing Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin and sent to Najib's son, Datuk Mohd. Nizar.

Among the contents of the letter is “In this regard, I on behalf of the Sultan of Pahang hereby confirm that the said addendum order exists and is valid.” The letter was read during the proceedings of Najib's application to include new evidence regarding the additional order. During today's proceedings, a panel of three judges led by Datuk Azizah Nawawi, sat alongside Datuk Azhahari Kamal Ramli and Datuk Seri Mohd. Firuz Jaffril. Representing the government were Senior Federal Counsel, Shamsul Bolhassan and Ahmad Hanir Hambaly. Also present at the proceedings was lawyer, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, also Member of Parliament for Kota Bharu, representing members of the Malaysian Parliament. Proceedings are currently ongoing with Muhammad Shafee still presenting his arguments.
