PAGASA: 'Maring', 'Nando' seen to merge in 24 hours

PAGASA says the merger of Tropical Storm MaringPH and Tropical Depression NandoPH may reach severe tropical storm category within 36 hours

— The two weather systems inside the Philippine area of responsibility may merge soon, the state weather bureau said.

Tropical Storm Maring will persist once it merges with Tropical Depression Nando, the state weather bureau. Maring was last located 745 km east of Catarman, Northern Samar – maintaining maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph. Moreover, Bicol Region, Caraga, Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of Visayas may experience light to moderate with at times heavy rains, PAGASA said.
