PACIFICA — Authorities on Thursday night were searching for a surfer in distress at a Pacifica beach.
Around 5:40 p.m., the North County Fire Authority said crews were at Linda Mar Beach for a water rescue. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter was also helping with the search. The fire authority announced around 6:50 p.m. that it had “turned the search for a possible surfer in distress” over to the U.S. Coast Guard and California State Parks lifeguards.
