The water company said mandatory reduction remains in effect for the Mechanicsburg water system.

The Pennsylvania American Water company is asking customers of its Mechanicsburg area system to continue to conserve water on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, as the result of heating oil leaking into the Conodoguinet Creek from an underground storage tank at the Cumberland-Perry Area Career and Technical Center on in Silver Spring Twp.

DEP determined the source was a leak in an underground storage tank at the Cumberland-Perry Area Career and Technical Center on Old Willow Mill Road, Silver Spring Twp.
