The inaugural ‘Jom Pilih Kemahiran’ Outreach Carnival held in Kota Kinabalu, today is an ideal platform to give early exposure of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes to youth and parents.
Deputy Human Resources Minister Mustapha Sakmud said the carnival organised by the Skills Development Department is being planned to be held at six more locations throughout Malaysia to give exposure to the community about TVET. “Today we bring together 20 TVET training providers and 20 companies and industries.
“It also provides enlightenment regarding the direction and implementation of TVET and skills training in Malaysia.“The aspect of the marketability of TVET graduates in the career market is also emphasised at this carnival to ensure that TVET becomes the main choice among young people in furthering studies,” he said.
