Australia’s budget deficit for the year ended June 30 totalled $32 billion, a sharp improvement on the $79.8 billion forecast by the government in late April, Treasurer Jim Chalmers said.
Company tax accounted for $14.2 billion, which is more than half of the increase, due mainly to boosted commodity prices in resources and energy.
