Kota Kinabalu: Last Sunday’s (Sept 3) race between Tambalang’s undisputed top two thoroughbreds, Coronation II and One Kinabalu was truly one to remember. Under blue skies with Mount Kinabalu literally watching over, it was a picturesque setting for the two bitter rivals to perhaps finally end the who is numero uno dispute.
From the moment the gates opened, One Kinabalu and Coronation II crossed swords with Ben in with a shout, jostling for the rights to lead from front. As the horses straightened up for the home run, One Kinabalu turned on the afterburner and powered home unchallenged, leaving a courageous Coronation II a hard fought second and Brilliant One in third position.
