Haruna, who is also the Commander Sector 1, Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai , said the exercise was designed to address threats posed by IEDs, which remained the primary weapon employed by the insurgents. The commander said the insurgents had resorted to desperate use of vehicle and human borne IEDs on soft targets.Haruna said that stakeholder contributions in the seminar would not only enhance the security landscape in Maiduguri metropolis but also inspire confidence and trust among the populace.
He also commended the Commander 47 Engineer Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Abdul-Razak Kazeem for the initiative.
