Apple is reportedly planning to add a second front-facing camera to the upcoming M5 iPad Pro, which will be placed on the portrait edge.
Apple is expected to launch a new iPad Pro with the M5 chip sometime later this year. Aside from the upgraded processor, the device will apparently come with another change. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tablet will be equipped with two front-facing cameras.
The report claims that this second camera will be positioned on the portrait edge of the iPad Pro. While this may seem like a minor addition, it could improve the overall user experience, especially when taking selfies or making FaceTime calls. These features can be used with ease regardless of whether the device is in landscape or portrait orientation.A portrait-side front-facing camera is nothing new for the iPad Pro.
The addition of a second camera would pretty much appease both groups. Aside from this and a faster chip, however, the M5 iPad Pro does not seem to come with any significant changes. It is also worth noting that the tablet will be the first to launch with the new chip, as the brand's MacBook lineup refresh is slated for early next year.
