Police have revealed new details about the shooting of two men at a salon on a busy shopping strip in Marrickville on Friday.

New South Wales Police believe the brazen shooting of two men at a barber shop in Sydney's inner west was a"targeted attack" with the suspected gunmen still at large.

Upon arrival police found a 33-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to the buttocks and another 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest. "One was located at Sydneham which we believe was the getaway car, which was a Stinger vehicle, and the other a Mitsubishi Triton which was dumped at Hercules Street in Dulwich Hill," said Superintendent Despa Fitzgerald on Friday.
