The trio play estranged sisters forced to reunite when their father becomes seriously ill. The family drama sees the sisters converge as their father’s health steadily declines.
The deal, with a price tag north of $6 million, according to sources, represents Netflix’s third acquisition out of Toronto after the streaming giant picked up Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut, for around $11 million after a world premiere at the festival. Netflix also nabbed the worldwide rights to Lucy Walker’s documentary His Three Daughters
is written, directed and edited by Jacobs and does not have an interim agreement in place. That means Netflix as a buyer is not bound by the terms SAG-AFTRA presented to the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and were earlier rejected and remain a point of contention as talks between the major studios and striking actors get set to resume.
Jacobs also shares producer credits with Alex Orlovsky, Duncan Montgomery, Lia Buman, Marc Marrie, Mal Ward, Matt Aselton, Tim Headington, Jack Selby and Diaz Jacobs The executive producers are Olsen, Coon, Lyonne, Danielle Renfrew Behrens, Maya Rudolph, Peter Friedland, Neil Shah and Sophia Lin.
