Several fire crews were on the scene of the blaze at Nambucca Close, Murrumba Downs, about 1pm on Wednesday.Nine News A two-storey home was severely damaged, with firefighters still working to control the blaze at 2.45pm.“The incident is causing smoke in the local area and people are asked to avoid Nambucca Close and surrounding streets if possible,” Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said.
Police declared an emergency zone, closing off Nambucca Close, Yaraki Court, Pine River Drive, Drysdale Court, Barnard Crescent, Hastings Street and Evans Court. “Neighbouring properties have been evacuated,” police said. “Emergency services are on the scene working to contain the fire. Please avoid the area where possible.”
