The seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) slightly increased to 4.4% on Saturday, based on the latest data from independent monitoring group OCTA Research.
OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said Monday that NCR’s positivity rate, or the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested, went up from 3.2% on March 25 to 4.4% on April 1.
The latest data also showed that the positivity rate also increased in the provinces of Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Cebu, Iloilo, Laguna, Negros Occidental, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Zamboanga del Sur. Meanwhile, in Misamis Oriental the positivity rate remains “high” after recording 27.4% in the past week. On the other hand, Isabela and Benguet's numbers moved from “low” to “moderate” level after registering 6.2% , and 5.5% positivity rates, respectively.
The Positivity rate in Camarines Sur, Davao del Sur, and South Cotabato, meanwhile, is still under the "moderate" category. cases on Sunday and the highest active case total in 12 days at 9,080. Metro Manila posted the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks with 846, followed by the Davao Region with 371, Northern Mindanao with 364, Calabarzon with 270, and Soccsksargen with 168.
