PETALING JAYA: With floods ravaging 10 states, ensuring a coordinated government response is a top priority for the National Disaster Management Agency , says its director-general Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus.Their main objective and concerns had been to mitigate risk in the affected areas and to ensure that the right type of assistance reached the victims.
“Five trailers were sent to Kelantan, and one trailer, in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Ministry was sent to Kuala Terengganu. “The main contributor to this mission was the GLC Demi Rakyat dan Negara , which donated RM13.7mil,” said Khairul.
