Trials for the Malaysia-Singapore QR code immigration clearance system will commence on 1 June 2024, deputy prime minister Fadillah Yusof announced. It will be implemented at two locations in Johor, namely the Sultan Iskandar Building and Sultan Abu Bakar Complex .

It is revealed that the first phase of testing will cater to Malaysians travelling to Singapore by bus and motorcycles throughout its three-month period, and will later expand to private vehicle users after. Users are only required to link their passport into the app by snapping a photo of the MRZ section, which will then be used to generate a unique QR code for immigration clearance. Additionally, MyTRIP can also be used to view the status of the country's entry pass as well as to check on your travel history.

Keep in mind that the feature on MySejahtera is only supported at immigration checkpoints at BSI for the time being. MyTrip is currently available to Malaysian citizens only, with plans to be extended to non-citizens in stages much later. It is also worth noting that users are still required to carry their passports at all times even when using MyTRIP.
