Motorcyclist Arrested for Metal Chain Attack on Car Windscreen

A man in Penang was arrested for throwing a metal chain at a car windscreen, after videos of the incident went viral on social media. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of mischief by throwing a metal chain at a car windscreen on Jalan Penang in Penang on Wednesday. According to a report from a 36-year-old woman, an unknown motorcyclist attacked her car while she was driving. The suspect was arrested at Jalan Padang Tembak on the same day and a metal chain , helmet, and T-shirt were seized from him.

The man has two prior criminal records and has been remanded until December 28 to assist with the investigation under Section 427 of the Penal Code. Earlier, videos and photos showing the incident went viral on social media. Tanjong MP and Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying, via her Facebook page, stated that she had contacted the police and requested increased patrols in the area to ensure public safety
