More than 70% of 1MDB’s assets, funds recovered, Azam Baki says
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Azam Baki says more than 70% of 1MDB assets and funds, equivalent to about RM28.93 billion, have been successfully recovered so far. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, March 7, 2023.
Azam said MACC also played a role in the successful recovery of RM8.06 billion involving the International Petroleum Investment Company . In another development, Azam said MACC has established a forensics unit to study the suspected elements of corruption and embezzlement involving RM157 million losses suffered by Universiti Teknologi Mara Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Earlier, Azam attended the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding involving the MACC, UiTM and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants in Putrajaya.
