, the festival is returning to live performances for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.the Pacifica Quartet The Pacifica Quartet, made up of violinists Simin Ganatra and Austin Hartman, violist Mark Holloway and cellist Brandon Vamos, showed an innate feel for timing, pacing and phrasing in very different music.
Joined by Bax in Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, Hartman, Holloway and Vamos took a suitably different approach. They kept their lines buoyant and moving, while also lingering gently at important moments and elegantly tapering the ends of sentences.
