Incoming RBA boss Michele Bullock has updated her declaration of interests after failing for over a year to declare membership of the Qantas Chairman’s Lounge.
Incoming Reserve Bank governor Michele Bullock has updated her register of personal interests after failing for more than a year to declare she was a member of the exclusivecontacted the RBA on Thursday to confirm whether Ms Bullock’s declaration, last updated in June 2023, was accurate. It stated that neither she nor her husband had any memberships where conflicts could arise, including to “airline clubs”.
The Chairman’s Lounge is for VIP clients travelling on domestic flights within Australia. Qantas does not discuss membership. The decision by Transport Minister Catherine King to protect Qantas from more competition has been criticised by former competition watchdog Rod Sims and the federal opposition, coming as Qantas reported a record $2.5 billion profit.
