MELAKA: A jail inmate is being investigated for allegedly murdering his cellmate over a piece of bread.
The 33-year-old prisoner from Ledang, Johor, had been sharing a cell at Sungai Udang Prison with the victim, an Indonesian, 47, and five others.
"An autopsy carried out on Friday revealed the victim had sustained head and facial injuries," he said. He said the deceased was supposed to be released in five months after serving his sentence under Immigration Act 1959/63.
