The Leader of the Opposition in the Melaka State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Dr. Mohd. Yadzil Yaakub, has criticized the 2025 Melaka State Budget, claiming it lacks clarity and transparency. He pointed out that some expenditures were not clearly stated, particularly in sectors like infrastructure development, education, tourism, security, disaster management, and the environment. Yadzil also expressed concerns about several proposed projects, citing their potential negative impact on local communities and the environment, such as the RM10 million upgrade of pedestrian walkways on the former monorail site and the RM600,000 lighting project at Dataran Keris Alor Gajah. Additionally, he questioned the German Technology Park (GTP) due to its lack of detailed information in the budget. The opposition leader asserted that the budget doesn't serve the interests of the 1.08 million people of Melaka.
