The Malaysian Chinese Association ( MCA ) is gearing up for a political comeback, aiming to participate in all upcoming elections, starting with the Sabah state election. MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong announced this during the party's Chinese New Year celebration in Seremban, emphasizing that contesting in every election is crucial for a party's survival. \Dr.

Wee's statement follows a previous declaration by MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon, who stated the party's intention to contest in all future state and general elections. He urged all MCA members, including potential candidates, to actively prepare for upcoming elections and continue serving the people. Dr Wee also stressed the MCA's role as a crucial check and balance mechanism within the government, acting as a voice for the rakyat. He acknowledged the government's positive contributions, including sound policies, while asserting the need to voice concerns when policies negatively impact the people. He cited the MCA's vocal stance on issues like the Employees Provident Fund's (EPF) management of Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) shares. Dr. Wee questioned the EPF's decision to sell MAHB shares at a lower price and repurchase them at a premium, deeming it a misuse of funds belonging to Malaysians. He argued that such practices would result in dismissal in the corporate world
