KOTA KINABALU: A man and a woman suspected of fish bombing were arrested were arrested and their catch of about 120kg seized on Saturday (May 25).
Marine police commander ACP Mohamad Pajeri Ali said the duo – a 64-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman – were nabbed along Jalan Tinangol Indarason, located in Sabah's northern Matunggong off Kudat district, at about 2.40pm Saturday."Our men stopped the duo and found the fish worth about RM1,200 in the vehicle they were in," he said in a statement here on Sunday .
ACP Mohamad said the vehicle, fish, a weighing machine and other items worth about RM16,700 were seized following their arrest. He warned the public against catching fish and other marine species using illegal methods such as fish-bombing saying their were making a concerted effort to stop such activities.
