Manila Water records a significant surge in new water connections amid the pandemic, expanding its total water service connections to 1,150,297 from August 1997 to December 2022.
The company’s flagship program, “Tubig Para Sa Barangay” or Water for the Community, has completed more than 750 projects, providing uninterrupted water supply to the base-of-the-pyramid population in the East Zone. This has benefited about 2 million residents from low-income communities.
The company’s service improvement program also includes the expansion of its water coverage, particularly in the still-unserved towns of Rizal Province. As Phase 1 of the Wawa Calawis Water System Project has been completed, it is expected that more residents of the Antipolo area will have access to 24/7 water supply.
Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water corporate communication affairs group director, said: “For the past 25 years since the start of the concession, Manila Water has been implementing projects to further improve and expand our services, aligning all our initiatives from operations to customer service to achieve our major goal which is to provide clean and potable water supply available to all our customers 24/7.”Your subscription has been successful.
