A man who police say grilled chicken and served food to community members for hours during an anti-gang-violence event at Will Hall Park in Wilmington was shot and killed after he took a break Thursday night, July 27, authorities said.
Detectives were searching for surveillance video; McGuyre would not comment as to whether police had already found any video that captured the shooting.Quezada had no criminal history or gang ties, McGuyre said. Los Angeles Councilman Tim McOsker, whose district includes Wilmington, said Quezada was someone “the community turns to to do the barbecues when someone loses their life through violence.
