Authorities identify 46-year-old man shot and killed after Wilmington community park event.
Two men are sought in the shooting death of a man who was cooking for a community event Thursday night at a park in Wilmington.
The shooting just after 10 p.m. was at a outside the Wilmington Recreation Center near Bay View Avenue and D Street during a youth activity event. Officers responding to a shots fired call found the man, identified by the coroner's office as 46-year-old Jose Quezada, suffering from several gunshot wounds.Police said the victim is well known for giving back to the community. He was apparently cooking at the event, which was winding down at about the time of the shooting, police said. Quezada had stepped away from the event when two men approached him and one opened fire, police said.
