A man was shot dead by Police following a confrontation at a home in Queensland, marking the state’s 11th police shooting in 12 months.
Officers arrived at the scene on Margaret Street about 5:30pm on Saturday to undergo a search of the property and one of the occupants.Police then fired their weapons with the man dying at the scene.
“Immediate first aid and CPR were provided however the man was declared deceased at the scene,” a police statement said.A crime scene was immediately established at the address with an investigation commencing by the internal investigations unit with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission reporting to the state coroner.
“There were people at home at the address at the time they are now providing statements and assistance to police,” he said.
