A deliveryman, who was caught on video hurling abuse at the police and resisting arrest, was brought to the Ampang magistrate’s court and slapped with five charges on Tuesday (April 21). Read more:

Aliff Ameruddin, 29, told Magistrate Farah Nasihah Annuar that he could not afford to pay a fine, which could be as high as RM1,000.

The offence under Rule 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2020 carries a maximum fine of RM1,000, or six months' imprisonment, or both, if convicted.Aliff also pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing police officer Zainuddin Kassim from carrying out his duty at the same place and time.

The policeman asked to see his identity card and Aliff retaliated by asking the police for his authority card.
