HANOI: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to closely coordinate with Thailand in investigating the deaths of six individuals, including four Vietnamese citizens, discovered at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel on Tuesday (July 16).

JOHOR BARU: A restaurant supervisor was charged at a Magistrate’s Court here with driving under the influence of alcohol and injuring a traffic policeman.

According to the charge sheet, Ng allegedly drove a silver sedan while drunk along KM3.6 of Jalan Pantai, heading towards Permas Jaya at 7.05am on July 14.The alcohol level in Ng’s blood was said to be 21mg per 100ml, which was 71mg more than the permitted level of 50mg per 100ml blood. Magistrate Nur Fatin allowed bail of RM9,000 with one surety and ordered Ng’s driving licence to be suspended until the end of the court proceedings. He also ordered him to report to the Plentong police station once a month.

It was earlier reported that the incident took place when the victim was conducting traffic control at the location.
