Man Dies After Car Plunges into Ditch in Muar

A 32-year-old man was killed when his car veered off the road and plunged into a ditch in Parit Jawa, Muar, yesterday afternoon. Mohd. Hafis Mohamad Ali was pronounced dead at the scene due to drowning after being trapped inside his Proton Saga Iswara. Police believe the accident occurred at around 2 pm when Hafis was traveling from Sri Tanjung towards Parit Jawa. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and overturn into a ditch on the right shoulder. He was extricated by members of the public and police who arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, the driver was declared dead by a medical assistant at the scene due to drowning.

Mangsa, Mohd. Hafis Mohamad Ali, 32, disahkan meninggal dunia di tempat kejadian akibat lemas apabila terperangkap dalam kereta Proton Saga Iswara dipandunya. Menurut Ketua Polis Daerah Muar, Asisten Komisioner Raiz Mukliz Azman Aziz, hasil siasatan awal mendapati kejadian kira-kira pukul 2 petang itu dipercayai berlaku semasa mangsa dalam perjalanan dari arah Sri Tanjung menuju ke Parit Jawa.

“Apabila tiba di lokasi kejadian, pemandu telah hilang kawalan lalu keretanya terbabas masuk ke dalam parit di bahu kanan jalan dan terbalik. Pemandu dikeluarkan dengan bantuan orang awam dan polis yang tiba di lokasi kejadian. “Malangnya, pemandu kereta berkenaan telah disahkan meninggal dunia oleh pembantu perubatan di tempat kejadian dipercayai akibat lemas,” katanya ketika dihubungi hari ini.
