Around €108,000 worth of cannabis was uncovered at a property in Leixlip on Thursday
One man has been arrested after more than €100,000 worth of cannabis was seized in a major operation by gardaí and revenue.
During the operation, a residential property in Leixlip, Co Kildare, was searched, resulting in the seizure of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €108,000, although this is pending analysis.A 40-year-old male was arrested in connection with the seizure and is currently being held at a Garda Station in North Kildare under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act, 1996. He may be held for up to seven days.
The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, and local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs. On Wednesday, March 13, gardaí conducted searches at two residential properties in the New Inn and Creggs areas of County Galway as part of Operation Tara.
