The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Veteran Affairs Department (JHEV) has opened a war room to assist veterans who are having trouble understanding the new pension rate calculation under the Civil Service Remuneration System. Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari said veterans can contact JHEV with any questions regarding their income or the calculation method. He added that before the pension revision, the veterans were informed about the formula and method used to determine the new rate.

: Malaysian Armed Forces veterans who have problems calculating the implementation of the Civil Service Remuneration System can contact the MAF Veteran Affairs Department for information.

Adly said before the pension revision is made, the ministry had informed the veterans involved on the formula and method used to determine the new pension rate. In November, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin announced that veterans who retired before January 2013 would receive an eight per cent first phase pension adjustment in December based on their final salary in 2012.

All of them also received a one-off Disability Award of between RM6,000 to RM72,000 according to the percentage of individual injuries they suffered.
