The Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) is prepared to help umrah pilgrims who have become victims and are stranded from performing their pilgrimage. This was announced by lawyer Ena Awil, representing the group of pilgrims involved in the largest commercial fraud case involving Hejira Travel and Tours Holding Sdn. Bhd. She also stated that a standard operating procedure (SOP) regarding this issue will be issued as a reference. The guidelines can be used by any umrah pilgrim because most of them lack experience and do not know what steps to take. Motac has also assured that an SOP will be issued if there are any future individuals stranded due to similar cases.

Education Experts Urge Malaysian Ministry to Reveal School Truancy DataDr. Anuar Ahmad, a education expert from UKM, calls on the Ministry of Education (KPM) to release data on school truancy rates nationwide to identify solutions to this critical issue. He emphasizes that truancy is a significant problem in the education system, leading to various other educational challenges. Dr. Anuar argues that without official data, parents and the community lack awareness of the truancy problem. He cites studies showing that many disciplinary and academic issues stem from truancy, including a high number of SPM candidates who miss exams. He also suggests targeted solutions for schools with high truancy rates, such as appointing excellent principals and teachers, implementing special projects to improve school infrastructure, and fostering a positive culture that recognizes the talents and abilities of all students.
