Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), urges prospective pilgrims to be cautious of unauthorized Hajj and Umrah packages offered by unlicensed individuals and travel agencies. Despite ongoing warnings from Tabung Haji (TH) through various media platforms, many are still falling victim to fraudulent packages. The government takes this issue seriously and aims to combat Hajj scams through collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Police, the Department of Waqf, Zakat and Hajj (JAWHAR), and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC). The minister stresses the importance of choosing licensed Hajj packages from TH-approved Hajj Management Companies (HMCs), including those with Furada and Mujamalah visas, to ensure proper monitoring and quality service.
