The Malaysian government's continued subsidies for capped airfares during the holiday season have successfully addressed public concerns over high air prices, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke. He attributed the success to a year of the MADANI government implementing subsidies during the holiday season. Loke noted that complaints about exorbitant prices, such as RM2,000 for flights to Tawau or Sandakan, were no longer prevalent on social media. He stated that the fixed-fare policy had effectively controlled airfare costs and eliminated complaints about price surges compared to previous years.
