The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDN) has assured that stock levels of essential goods in flood-stricken states are sufficient. Deputy Minister Dr Fuziah Salleh stated that special permits have been issued to wholesalers to increase their stock of essential goods by up to 30 percent to prepare for the possibility of disrupted supply lines due to floods.

“Kita telah membuat persediaan sekurang-kurangnya dua bulan lepas dan seperti sekarang kita tahu Kelantan seolah-olah terkepung kerana banjir dan sukar untuk bekalan masuk. Tapi tidak perlu bimbang kerana mereka di sana sudah bersedia dengan stok yang kita percaya mencukupi.
