The Malaysian government has forecast that this year's floods, particularly in the eastern states, will be worse than the 'yellow alert' situation in 2014. Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that the forecast is based on METMalaysia's focus and predictions. However, the government remains prepared and has taken preemptive measures, including activating METMalaysia's early warning system.
