The upcoming Malaysian film 'Limbungan: Tragedi Hitam 1975', directed by Fazli Yasin, draws inspiration from historical accounts of the Harimau Jadian, a mythical creature believed to have inhabited Malaysia in the past. While the storyline is fictional, it delves into the legend of the bloodthirsty creature, which attacked and killed seven family members in Pahang in the 1860s. The film follows two employees sent to a remote village to acquire land for a hydroelectric dam project, who face resistance from the villagers and the terrifying presence of the Harimau Jadian, which emerges during lunar eclipses.
