He made these remarks during the Malaysia-Turkey Business Forum at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also delivered a speech at the forum.Erdogan echoed Anwar's sentiment, stressing that while discussions often center around multinational corporations and conglomerates, true success hinges on how collaborations support SMEs within an effective supply chain ecosystem. He commended Anwar's commitment to implementing and strengthening initiatives that prioritize SME development. Anwar expressed confidence in achieving the target of US$10 billion in trade between Malaysia and Turkey ahead of the initial five-year timeframe. He envisions a growth rate of at least 20% annually, believing that the current circumstances could accelerate the target realization.Furthermore, Anwar underscored that bilateral and diplomatic relations extend beyond economic considerations, encompassing friendship, trust, and shared aspirations. He emphasized that Malaysia and Turkey, as members of ASEAN, share a vision for a stable and rapidly developing Southeast Asia as a major global economic power. He lauded the valuable cooperation between Turkey and ASEAN, built on a foundation of trust and camaraderie among regional leaders.
