Malaysia is projected to receive RM7.38 billion in economic impact through 850 international conferences and programs from last year to 2026. The revenue is also driven by the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026) campaign, which aims to record RM147.1 billion in earnings from 35.6 million tourist arrivals.

JOHOR BAHRU: Malaysia bakal menerima impak ekonomi bernilai lebih RM7.38 bilion menerusi pelaksanaan 850 persidangan dan program antarabangsa di seluruh negara bermula tahun lalu sehingga 2026.

Beliau berkata, ASEAN menawarkan pasaran pelancongan dinamik yang menunjukkan pemulihan positif pasca pandemik Covid-19 dengan peningkatan ketibaan pelancong global sebanyak 2 peratus pada tahun 2024 berbanding 2019. “Menjelang tahun 2024, rantau ini melepasi ketinggian 130 juta pelancong global menandakan pemulihan sepenuhnya. Kejayaan ini mencerminkan ketahanan dan sikap optimis ASEAN dalam memajukan sektor pelancongan rantau ini,” katanya ketika berucap menyempurnakan Majlis Pembukaan Forum Pelancongan ASEAN 2025 di sini hari ini.
